Happy Holidays From BBGT

Ariel and I are taking a break from writing the blog to enjoy our holidays or, in my case, seethe in quiet rage over how awful the new Doctor Who was. We’ll be on break for the rest of the year, but don’t worry! We’ll be back updating on our regular schedule on New Year’s Day in 2014. I actually almost wrote 2013 just there, even though the entire point of this post was to tell you to come back in 2014.

Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year from Bad Books, Good Times, everyone!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you guys who work so hard reading awful books and pointing out their many disturbing flaws so we don’t have to <3

Were you ridiculously bored for most of Doctor Who? Such a let down compared to the 50th Anniversary Special. And I hope Clara disappears soon, she's a snooze.

Here is a disturbing image as a present for you guys: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=445516032237210&set=a.155394934582656.29981.150020435120106&type=1&theater

I’ve only watched Doctor Who a handful of times, so when I watched the 50th Anniversary Special with my boyfriend’s family I thought I just didn’t have the needed emotional attachment to the characters or that I was missing the nostalgia factor. After it was done, I admitted I didn’t enjoy it and was relieved to find they were all massively disappointed. It was some pretty fucking terrible storytelling. OH and having a town called Christmas is a shitty way to make it a Christmas special -_-.

WHY DO THOSE EXIST!??! (the Fifty Shades ornaments)

They exist because people are RIDICULOUS.

The whole town called Christmas thing was basically stupid. Previous Christmas specials have been really cool so I kind of feel Steven Moffat couldn’t be bothered with Doctor Who and just concentrated on Sherlock.

SO disappointed in the new Doctor Who episode…

However, Merry (late) Christmas and Happy New Year to you wonderful readers of all things awful! Here’s to better books and better Who!

Happy holidays to you guys, too :). The new Dr Who was indeed awful, but I still think it was the best Christmas special that series has done in a while. Says it all, really 😛

One of my absolute favorite gifts this year was the BBGT mug that my mother got me for Christmas. I feel snarky and wonderful whenever I drink from it. Thanks for running such an awesome blog, you two. Happy holidays 🙂

Happy holidays and an even happier New Year! Looking forward to more BBGT in 2014 🙂

(Also, I just caught up on Doctor Who and I am about to watch the episode which introduces the new doctor; though I’m not sure I want to now!)
