Happy Holidays from BBGT!

Bad Books, Good Times is taking off the rest of the year for the holidays! That’s only a week, but I wanted to stretch it out into something that seems way more dramatic, like the books we read. We’ll be back on January 1st in 2015 with our regularly scheduled Insurgent coverage, but in the meantime, Ariel and I would like to wish everyone a very happy holidays and a happy new year!

I’d like to throw out one more question of the day (or week, effectively) to anyone checking out the blog right now: What are your new year’s resolutions? It’s a very cliched and very easily ignored question, but it’s worth pondering over. One of my resolutions is to resume BBGT coverage of The Room in 2015. I swear I haven’t forgotten about that.

I realize that this may not be the most inclusive thing to share with you guys – either because it’s Christmas music or because it’s jazz, take your pick – but I’d like to share a fairly different thing with all of you from the usual mockery of awful literature that we offer. One of my favorite Christmas albums is an album called Have a Jazzy Christmas by Bill Augustine and Malcolm Cecil. I have absolutely no recollection of how this CD wound up on my shelf years and years ago – no idea who got it for me or why, because it was way before I got into jazz – but I like it. So for anyone who likes Vince Guaraldi’s jazzy soundtrack to A Charlie Brown Christmas, here’s something that might be up your alley.

So, once again, happy holidays to our Bad Books, Good Times family! You guys are the best and we’ll see you in the new year!
