Next Up: Calendar Girl (January)

Calendar Girl (January):

Now that Crossfire has left a racy hole in our hearts, Matthew and I have decided to read Calendar Girl, and dive into the world of high class call girls.

My mother actually recommended this book to us; she volunteers at a library and said it’s constantly being borrowed, and it looks absolutely dreadful. It’s like catnip to BBGT! [Matthew says: Also, let it be known that our parents recommend erotica to us now. Thanks, blog.]

Mia Saunders just barely escaped a paltry life back home in Las Vegas until she gets the call that her Father has been beaten to within an inch of his life for not paying his gambling debt. Problem is, the lone shark is her lousy, ruthless ex-boyfriend. Another guy in a long line of men she’d fallen head over heels for. Not anymore.

Mia’s mission is simple. Serve as a high-priced escort for her Aunt’s company and pay monthly against her Father’s bad debt. A month with a rich man who she doesn’t have to sleep with if she doesn’t want to? Easy money. At least that’s the way it was supposed to go.

It’s got a dash of Beautiful Disaster mixed with a heaping dose of Fifty Shades/Crossfire. From what I’ve read of the first few chapters, I’m very excited to go on this journey with you all and getting to know (and hate?!) Mia and co. The first instalment is only around 100 pages, so if we all have a terrible time, we can move on pretty quickly.

Have any of you read this book or heard of it? Are you all crying because we’re not doing Maze Runner yet?
